The beauty of Keller Williams is not our dedication to constant evolution to remain at the forefront of the real estate industry, but our commitment to culture. The culture of our agents, the culture of our training, and the culture we extend to our community. What is a business if they’re all business? That’s where RED Day comes from.
Red is not just Keller Williams’ signature color, but stands for Renew, Energize, and Donate. To celebrate the birthday of our former CEO, Mo Anderson (pictured right), every Keller Williams office shuts down on the second Thursday in May to give back to the community. Some offices simply place flowers in their city, some serve at soup kitchens; this year, we visited the Clear Path for Veterans center in Chittenango, NY. Clear Path for Veterans is a place that will do everything the VA doesn’t. The VA will handle the medical side, but Clear Path offers a place Vets can go to reconnect, talk, and heal. They offer everything from massages to opportunities to train therapy dogs to a dining room that people can relax and share experiences. Sitting on 76 acres, the grounds hold a golf course, walking trails, strawberry fields, a dog lure course, and a view that stretches over 100 miles on a clear day. The video below shows the culture offered by Clear Path.
Each Memorial Day, Clear Path for Veterans celebrates the memory of Navy SEAL Lt. Michael Murphy by holding the Mega Murph, an athletic competition not for the faint of heart. Participants endure a workout of a 1 mile run, 100 pullups, 200 pushups, 300 squats, and finish with another 1 mile run, this time, wearing a weighted vest. Adaptive and Scaled versions of the workout are available to participate in for those who want to compete, but need modified conditions based on their performance level or any handicaps. To prepare for the Mega Murph, the agents of the Syracuse Keller Williams office helped clean the grounds, build benches, and paint structures. This year’s Mega Murph is May 27, 2017. If you think you have the what it takes to participate, you can buy tickets here. Spectators can watch the insanity for free.
